Newfoundland and Labrador has the facilities, services, colleagues and technical resources to support your nursing career, enabling you to grow as a professional. Nurses who practice here enjoy working closely with other health professionals such as physicians, physiotherapists, social workers and occupational therapists in a team-based environment.
Growing professionally involves advancing your own knowledge in areas that interest you. We offer continuing education opportunities including the Operating Room Technician course, Perioperative Nursing course, Operating Room First Assistant course, and Post-Basic Gerontology course as well as many others. A variety of educational opportunities are available and designed to provide high quality nursing experiences that will enable you to practice successfully throughout your career.
Newfoundland and Labrador also offers registered nurses the opportunity to continue their education to become nurse practitioners (NP). The NP program is designed for the convenience of registered nurses who wish to continue their education but cannot attend a university campus, who have family commitments and/or are working.
