Baie Verte


The town of Baie Verte is located on the Northeast coast of Newfoundland and Labrador on the Baie Verte Peninsula in White Bay.


Baie Verte existed as a small community in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s but with the discovery of asbestos and other ore bodies of copper, lead, zinc and gold in the mid 1950’s the town flourished.

The town of Baie Verte offers a wide variety of attractions. They offer everything from whale watching, snowmobiling, skiing, beautiful trails, and much much more. They believe that with their very diverse and continuously growing tourism sector, you won’t be disappointed. The town of Baie Verte has a very rich history of mining and Industry as well as other very interesting attractions.

The town of Baie Verte has all infrastructures required for most every recreational activity, whether inside or out, winter or summer. It holds holds various festivals throughout the year, namely "Spree By The Sea", an annual three day festival, to celebrate its civic holiday.  This festival  is held on the 2nd weekend of August.
