Description:

Women and Child’s Health Program at Eastern Health invites expressions of interest from those interested in a position as Clinical Assistant with the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Janeway Children’s Hospital.

The position will be salaried in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement between the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

As the Clinical Associate, you will have a background in Family Medicine.  You will work within the NICU, Caseroom and 5NB of the Children’s and Women’s Health Program, with occasional responsibility for prenatal and newborns consulted to the neonatal service. You will be working primarily in NICU at the Janeway, Child Health Centre and will be responsible to the "on call" NICU physician and the Chief of Neonatology.

The Clinical Assistant will work with other medical staff within these areas to provide care to the sick newborn infants in the NICU and while on night call to provide care to infants who become sick on 5NB (normal newborn nursery). As well, you will be a part of the Neonatal Resuscitation Team. All care provided is under the supervision of a staff specialist.

 

 

Qualifications:

Applicants must be eligible for licensure (full or provisional) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Remuneration:

Salary and benefits for this position are to be paid in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in NL and commensurate with the level of training and experience.
