Adult Gastroenterologist
Eastern Health, St. John’s, NL

The Medicine Program of Eastern Health has an immediate opening for one full-time, fee for service Gastroenterologist to join the Division of Gastroenterology in St. John’s, NL. 

The successful candidate will have an equal share of elective and urgent inpatient endoscopy time. The individual will be responsible for in and outpatient gastroenterology services including seeing new patients as well as follow up on existing patients.  This position is hospital and clinic based with the expectation of 3 half day endoscopy slots per week, one hospital based general GI clinic per week and possible participation in additional hospital specialty and office based GI clinics. Appropriate trained candidates can participate in the FIT program. The successful candidate will participate in an equal share of on-call for Gastroenterology and will also participate inpatient medicine CTU coverage, currently 6 weeks per year.

 

Qualifications:

All candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador and meet credentials criteria for Eastern Regional Health Authority. Fellowship training or subspecialty expertise in IBD, motility, hepatology or nutrition would be considered an asset.  Applications must be qualified or eligible for Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada within a reasonable time period.

Remuneration:

This position is fee-for-service and remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement and MCP Fee Schedule. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing their own administrative support.
