We are currently recruiting a Medical Officer of Health working within the Public Health Program for Newfoundland & Labrador. Responsible for Eastern Heath in St. John’ s the Medical Officer of Health will be responsible for the development of public health programs and services that promote and protect the health of the population. Supporting the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, the Medical Officer of Health will work with Physicians and Public Health Stakeholders to measure, monitor and develop strategies to influence the key determinants of health within the regional population.


All candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador and have a medical degree and certification in Public Health and Preventative Medicine with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and/or equivalent qualifications in public health.

Dates:Negotiable - January 2020 remains vacant

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador.
