Description:

The Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, NL is seeking expressions of interest for a full time, permanent Anesthesist. This hospital is a facility of the Eastern Regional Integrated Health Board.

The general accountabilities of the position include providing individualized direct and indirect patient care within the scope of practice that includes:

  • Consultations.
  • Pre-anesthesia assessment clinics.
  • Coverage to obstetrical patients.
  • Provision of a pain service.
  • Participation in the call schedule.
Qualifications:

The successful incumbent must be licensable by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador and satisfy the credentialing requirements of Eastern Health. Information about CPSNL can be obtained at cpsnl@cpsnl.ca.

Dates:Open until filled - Permanent Position
Hours of Work:35 hours weekly plus on call.
Remuneration:

Pay scale is in accordance with the Department of Health (DOH) salary guidelines. The specialist salary scale is: Step 1- $220,147 to Step 5 - $262,714.

Retention package of $8,000 after first year of service, $16,000 after 24 months and $24,000 after 36 months.

On-call benefits paid in accordance with DOH guidelines.

Free housing accommodations are available for the first 3 months of employment.

Incumbent will receive annually 20 days of vacation plus leave for workshops and other training.

This hospital has 47 acute care beds and 42 long-term care beds which include two respite care beds and two palliative care beds. Services include anesthesia, chemotherapy, diabetes education, family practice, general surgery, gynecology, obstetrics, ICU/Cardiac, internal medicine, laboratory, palliative care, pediatrics, psychiatry, radiology, respiratory therapy, ultrasonography and 24-hour emergency. Other services include nursing, nutritional, pharmacy, physiotherapy, social work and visiting specialty clinics.
