Description: | Eastern Health invites expressions of interest for the position of General/Family Physician in the Mental Health and Addictions Program. Eastern Health is the largest integrated health organization in Newfoundland and Labrador. It employs over 13,000 employees and provide services to a regional population of more than 300,000. Eastern Health has unique provincial responsibilities for tertiary level institutional services The Physician will join an established group of physicians who work within the multidisciplinary teams of Waterford Hospital and other clinical areas within the Mental Health and Addictions Program. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) attending to the general medical care of admitted inpatients, working collaboratively with Psychiatry and other Mental Health Professions, and participating in the On-Duty Roster for the Psychiatric Assessment Unit of Waterford Hospital to ensure the provision of safe, efficient and high quality comprehensive patient care Normal working hours will be 8:30am to 4:30pm. On-Duty is currently a minimum of 4 shifts per month, during which the physician must remain in the hospital for a 24-hour period. Interests in Geriatric, Addictions, Methadone Maintenance Programs, Chronic Pain, Eating Disorders and/or Emergency Medicine would be particular assets to the applicant.

Qualifications: | All applicants must be licensed to practice as a General Practitioner by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador and must be granted privileges by Eastern Regional Health Authority. |

Remuneration: | Salary and benefits for this position are to be paid in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement for salaried physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador. |
