Definition of work:

The physician will join two other pediatricians sharing the workload and on-call duties within the department. Pediatric services at our regional hospital include outpatient clinics, Emergency Department and inpatient coverage, routine neonatal care and attendance at difficult deliveries. Interdisciplinary clinics in the areas of development, behavior, obesity and chronic disease could be developed based on a physician’s interests.  The position offers a vigorous and varied caseload, and the fulfillment of serving the needs of families in this rural part of the province.  The applicant must be willing to work within a regional team with a focus on patient-centered care.  The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centred care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Required qualifications:

• Eligible for registration and licensure as a Pediatrician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador
• Satisfy credentialing requirements of Central Health
• A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.
• A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority

Salary:  $220,147-$262,714 annually

Incentives/ Benefits:

• Rural Retention Bonus of $8000 will be paid after one year of service.
• Relocation expenses up to the amount of $20,000 will be reimbursed for a one year RIS.
• Leave and benefits will be provided in accordance with the MOA between Newfoundland & Labrador Medical Association and Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.
