The physician will join 4 other Emergency Room physicians covering the department 24 hours a day (12 hour shifts). The successful physician must work in a team-based, client-focused environment, and partner with all team members to improve employee and patient safety by integrating safe work practices, identifying risk and implementing improvements when required.  The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Required qualifications:

• Eligible for registration and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador
• Satisfy the credentialing requirements of Central Health’s Discipline of Emergency Medicine.
• CFPC certification (special competency in Emergency Medicine not required but favourable for the position).
• Candidates should have completed or be registered for ACLS, ATLS, PALS, and an ED - U/S, POCUS, or equivalent.
• Consistent demonstration of Central Health’s corporate values; Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Stewardship and Quality.
• A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
• A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
