Eastern Health invites expressions of interest for a Gastroenterologist (LOCUM - 6 months) at the Health Science Centre within the Medicine Program of Eastern Health.

Eastern Health is the largest integrated health organization in Newfoundland and Labrador (NL). It employs over 13,000 employees, provides services to a regional population of more than 300,000 and is responsible for provincial tertiary health services.

The successful candidate will participate in elective and urgent inpatient endoscopy time. The individual will be responsible for in and outpatient gastroenterology services at the HSC including seeing new patients as well as follow up on existing patients.  This position is hospital based with the expectation of endoscopy service including participation in FIT colonoscopy time, hospital based general GI clinic and participation in additional specialty GI clinics. The successful candidate will participate in an equal share of on-call for Gastroenterology and will also participate in CTU coverage.






All candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador. Fellowship training or subspecialty expertise in IBD, motility, nutrition or EUS would be considered an asset. Applications must be qualified or eligible for Fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada.


This position is fee-for-service and remuneration will be in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement and MCP Fee Schedule.
