Description:

Eastern Health invites expressions of interest for locum Neonatologists within the Children & Women’s Health (Child) Program. Based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, the Children and Women’s Health Program provides primary, secondary and tertiary care services to children up to their 18th birthday and to women requiring obstetrical or gynecological services throughout the entire province.

The Neonatal Intensive Care unit (NICU) at the Janeway Children’s Health Centre is the only level III NICU for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It is a combined Level II/IIII 25 bed unit with the ability to provide high frequency ventilation, iNO and therapeutic hypothermia. Our patient population is varied and includes extremely preterm infants as well as infants with surgical conditions. There is also an active neonatal transport team which transports sick neonates under the medical direction of the neonatologist.

Qualifications:

All candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The Janeway hospital is located in the capital city of St. John’s and is the tertiary children’s hospital for the province.  On call coverage is required.
