Description:

The Women and Child’s Health Program at Eastern Health invites applications from those interested in a part time and/or ongoing shifts as Clinical Associate with the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Janeway Children’s Hospital.

As the Clinical Associate, you will have a background in Family Medicine and may even be a community Family Physician with an interest to work periodic shifts in the NICU.  You will work within the NICU, Caseroom and 5NB of the Children’s and Women’s Health Program, with occasional responsibility for prenatal and newborns consulted to the neonatal service. You will be working primarily in NICU at the Janeway, Child Health Centre and will be responsible to the "on call" NICU physician and the Chief of Neonatology.

The Clinical Associate will work with other medical staff within these areas to provide care to the sick newborn infants in the NICU and while on night call to provide care to infants who become sick on 5NB (normal newborn nursery). As well, you will be a part of the Neonatal Resuscitation Team with in-house training provided. All care provided is under the supervision of a staff specialist.

 

 

Qualifications:

Applicants must be eligible for licensure (full or provisional) with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Remuneration:

The position will be paid in accordance with the Memorandum of Agreement between the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador for either the salaried position and/or daily locum rates for ongoing shifts.
